When you're struggling with an eating disorder, life seems to get smaller and smaller. What once seemed to promise freedom and happiness begins to feel like a trap. You feel like you can't go back, yet you can't continue as you are. You begin to feel stuck--hopeless.
You aren't trapped. There is hope. Recovery from disordered eating takes time and patience. I take a gentle, client-centered approach to recovery. Body size is unimportant. You don't have to "look eating disordered" to ask for help.
You may be reluctant to seek help, scared of what becoming "healthy" may mean. Rest assured that therapy is not about relinquishing control. It is, in fact, a way to take back control of your life. If you are ready for help, or even if you're unsure but want to see if we can work together, contact me. I can also offer referrals to dietitians, doctors, or other therapists.
